Recently refurbished, our bright airy Baby Room offers a calm and tranquil atmosphere for the youngest children in the nursery, reflecting a home from home environment.
Equipped with physical benches from Community Play Things, your child can learn to move with support, and with a range of treasure baskets and heuristic resources, your baby can begin to learn about the world around them, exploring using their senses.
There is a separate eating area equipped with highchairs and small tables for feeding and cots provide a cosy retreat when it’s time to nap. The overall design of the room meets the unique needs of babies, and the everyday schedule within the Baby Room reflect each child’s exclusive home routine that is mimicked by the highly trained team.
Our Toddler Room is the perfect environment for younger children to develop a new-found freedom of walking and talking; children’s physical skills are especially encouraged with a built in climbing ramp as they explore the room and look out of the window bays onto their peers.
The exhilarating playground for ‘under two’s’ is easily accessible and the Toddlers continuously extend their learning in the outdoors. Children can access a wide range of media and materials in the Craft and Messy Play Area within the room along with discovering the Book Corner, Small World Area, Problem Solving Area and Home Corner.
The Toddler Room allows for a flexible routine to support children with their first transition within the nursery and embed early boundaries.
One of the larger rooms within the nursery, the 2-3 Room offers an exciting new environment to satisfy your child’s curious mind. Following the recent refurbishments, the 2-3 Room is equipped with a wonderful array of resources to promote learning across all areas.
The room boasts a fantastic climbing structure, to encourage physical development, and leads onto our Woodland Nature Trail to provide fantastic continuous outdoor provision. The room is stimulating and vibrant and boasts a fabulous Home Corner, Book Corner, Construction area and also a brand-new Discovery Area for all those creative imaginations.
With a superb routine, the 2-3 Room enables the Bear’s and Cub’s, younger and older children, to divide and learn through play within different areas of the nursery, joining together for significant times including sign language sessions, song and rhymes and meal times.
To prepare children with their upcoming transition to school our Pre-school is very much classroom oriented and encourages social and child led play.
A dedicated Writing Area helps children with letter formation as they begin to develop their literacy skills, along with a Book Corner and Letters and Sounds sessions. We have a range of resources to promote mathematical skills and have an extensive Problem-Solving Area, which filters into a large Discovery Area to build links about the world around them.
The room also benefits from its own ICT suite including a large SmartBoard used for a variety of interactive group activities, a laptop and multiple iPads.
There is also a diverse Home Corner in which the children can create their very own role-play. Continuous outdoor provision is also advocated and a small outdoor area is attached to the Pre-school. Within their last year at the nursery they are encouraged make their own choices and become independent learners and confident young people.
The nursery has a large outdoor playground at the front of the building which is continuously maintained and enhanced with incredible activities and structures. The adventure playground boasts two slides, a role-play pirate ship and our very own Garden Library to support learning across all areas.
The tree-houses are admired by all and our Ice-Cream Parlour can be interchangeable for many different role-play opportunities. We also have a good old fashioned Mud Kitchen on the playground for the children to make ‘mud pies’ and put their creative skills to the test; as well as a huge Construction Area for the children to take on the role of Site Manager and use a vast range of everyday materials.
We also boast a smaller playground for the younger children to enjoy and offer a serener area for the ‘under two’s’ to discover a range of messy activities to explore using their senses. It offers extended learning and development and allows them to not only challenge their own physical skills, but to challenge their active learning and critical thinking through play with the sensory boards, mark making walls and a huge built in sand pit.
Our Nature Trail is a fantastic area of woodland, cabins and bridges where the children can explore all the secrets of the natural environment. Here children can discover nature through our Bug Hotel, discover new plants, habitable environments and wildlife, therefore learning about the world around them. Alongside providing lots of excitement in all weather. The children will venture up to the Nature Trail daily and it provides fun for all ages.
The infamous Bear Hunt and Gruffalo stories are a perfect enhancement to this wonderful back area.
In addition to the four main rooms, the nursery also has its very own Sensory Room.
We have installed, a range of audio-visual equipment including a sound system, projector and sensory lighting to ensure this room stimulates all of the senses and sets a fantastic and fun atmosphere.
The Sensory Room is enjoyed by all children on a daily basis and a range of activities will be offered to suit each age range. The Pre School and 2-3 room take part in Dance and Mini Bootcamp classes to make the most of this animated room, these are conducted by an external qualified dance teacher.
