Outdoors and the Nature Trail

The nursery has a large outdoor playground at the front of the building which is continuously maintained and enhanced with incredible activities and structures. The adventure playground boasts two slides, a role-play pirate ship and our very own Garden Library to support learning across all areas.

The tree-houses are admired by all and our Ice-Cream Parlour can be interchangeable for many different role-play opportunities. We also have a good old fashioned Mud Kitchen on the playground for the children to make ‘mud pies’ and put their creative skills to the test; as well as a huge Construction Area for the children to take on the role of Site Manager and use a vast range of everyday materials.

We also boast a smaller playground for the younger children to enjoy and offer a serener area for the ‘under two’s’ to discover a range of messy activities to explore using their senses. It offers extended learning and development and allows them to not only challenge their own physical skills, but to challenge their active learning and critical thinking through play with the sensory boards, mark making walls and a huge built in sand pit.

Our Nature Trail is a fantastic area of woodland, cabins and bridges where the children can explore all the secrets of the natural environment. Here children can discover nature through our Bug Hotel, discover new plants, habitable environments and wildlife, therefore learning about the world around them. Alongside providing lots of excitement in all weather. The children will venture up to the Nature Trail daily and it provides fun for all ages.

The infamous Bear Hunt and Gruffalo stories are a perfect enhancement to this wonderful back area.
