In September 2017 we received our Healthy Eating Award, we pride ourselves in providing healthy homemade meals appropriate and suitable for all ages throughout Swan Meadow Nursery. We encourage children to eat a nutritious, balanced diet early on, as it is important for a number of reasons. Ensuring they get the right vitamins and minerals in their diet will help them grow and develop optimally. They are also more likely to be energised and motivated, supporting their ability to learn.
Educating them on healthy eating during childhood will also help them make healthier choices as they become adults.
Inspired by the recent series “Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds” Swan Meadow Cottage are excited to announce plans for an upcoming Community Project. We feel it is vital that children have first hand experiences within their local community and we hope to set up monthly visits with a small group of children to various locations. Our plans include visits to a retirement home to interact with older residents, a trip to a local farm to learn how to look after animals and the land, and a visit to the local fire station to teach children about people who help us and the important jobs they do. We hope the project will have a positive impact on children, as well as the people we visit. We can’t wait to set this up in the coming months, so watch this space!!
It’s that time of year again when Swan Meadow Cottage venture out on their annual trip to Blackpool Zoo. The trip will take place on Monday 21st August from 8.30am to 4.30pm. We ask parents to fill in their permission forms and return their £10 payment by Monday 14th August. Payment covers coach transfer, entry fee, packed lunch and snacks. If you have any queries please speak to a member of management. We look forward to posting lots of photos of our fun day out!
